About the Author
Sang H. Kim is an internationally respected author of 20 martial arts books, including the widely acclaimed Vital Point Strikes and the classics Ultimate Flexibility, Ultimate Fitness through Martial Arts, Martial Arts After 40, Combat Strategy and Teaching Martial Arts. His new book Mindful Movement: Mastering Your Hidden Energy is available at Amazon.com.�

He has also created over 200 instructional video programs including Self-defense Encyclopedia, Knife-defense, Power Breathing, Junsado Training Series, and Complete Taekwondo Series.�They are available through Amazon Instant Video.

He won the 1976 Korean National Championship and was named Instructor of the Year by the Korean government in 1983. As a special agent during his military service, he developed tactical combat methods for hand-to-hand and hand-to-weapon combat for covert operatives.

Sang H. Kim is the originator of MBX-12, mindful movement and deep breathing exercises, and found it clinically effective in managing stress. His research results were published in the July 2013 issue of the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, and featured in CBS News, Huffington Post, Fox News, and others.�
Dr. Kim has a PhD in Exercise Science, and had training as a Postdoctoral research fellow at the National Institutes of Health. He also had additional training at the National Cancer Institute and the Institute of Lifestyle Medicine of Harvard Medical School.�

This book is a great read for anyone wanting to improve their flexibility - not just for the martial artist. Mr. Kim informs the read about why we strectch, how stretching works, and how to implement a strectching program. A great read for anyone.

Very thorough

This is a comprehensive and well-organized book, with the perfect amount of description (how to do the exercises) and other informative information. The stretches in this book would be useful for ANY reader, although Kim does point out how they are relevant to martial arts training as well. I've examined a number of other books and was frustrated by their lack of "completeness" and usability. This is by far the best that I have seen.

About the Author
Keith Oatley is Director of the Cognitive Science Program, University of Toronto. He is the author of more than 130 scholarly articles and seven books, including Emotions: A Brief History (Blackwell, 2004), and two novels.

Dacher Keltner is professor of psychology at University of California at Berkeley, and the author of more than 80 scholarly articles and one book. He received the 2000 Templeton Positive Psychology Prize for Excellence in Research, and two university-wide teaching awards at UC Berkeley.

Jennifer M. Jenkins is Professor in the Department of Human Development and Applied Psychology at the University of Toronto. She is co-editor, with Keith Oatley, of Human Emotions: A Reader (Blackwell, 1998). She now heads a large research project on gene-environment interactions in children.

Decent textbook

While it had what I needed, it was very dry for a text. It was useful, but could have included more first hand research and data - I definitely expected more from such a large psych text.

Alan J. Daly, PhD, is an assistant professor of education at the University of California, San Diego. He earned his PhD in education from the University of California, Santa Barbara.� In addition to fifteen years' experience in public education as a teacher, psychologist, and administrator, Daly has also been the program director for the Center for Educational Leadership and Effective Schools at the University of California, Santa Barbara. In this position he collaboratively supported the delivery of high-quality services and research to five school districts, focusing on social networks, trust, and potential of systems for change. A Must Read!!

Social Network Theory and Educational Change really nails the topic of educational change using a unique and interesting approach. This book reports high quality research by leading scholars in educational reform/change in a manner that is thoughtful, clear, and can be applied to the work of improving education. As there is so much discussion around the term `social network' it was helpful to have a grounding in the concept both in the outset and conclusion of the book--each chapter includes scholarly and practical insights that make this book useful for a wide variety of scholars and educators who are interested in educational reform. Unlike other books on educational change, it was great to see how social networks can be applied, and how the approach yields important insights into the process of change. Although Social Network Theory and Educational Change is focused on education in a broad sense, most of the information/insights can be applied in a wide variety of settings such as business, healthcare, or any other field that relies on social interactions to get work accomplished. One of the most thoughtful and engaging books on educational reform I have read in a long time.

Daly Understands Social Networks

This book not only provides a great overview of social network theory, but it also does an incredible job at providing evidence for why educational reform is hindered by relationships that exist. So, if you are looking for a good description of social network theory, this is the book for you. Or, if you are hoping to better understand the dynamics of educational reform, this book is perfect.

About the Author
Wayne Johnson worked at the U.S. Army Aeromechanics Laboratory from 1970 to 1981 at the NASA Ames Research Center. He was with NASA from 1981 to 1986, including a couple of years as Assistant Branch Chief. Dr Johnson founded Johnson Aeronautics in 1986, under which he developed rotorcraft software until 1998. Since 1998, he has worked at the Aeromechanics Branch of NASA Ames Research Center. Dr Johnson is author of the comprehensive analysis CAMRADII and the rotorcraft design code NDARC; and of the book Helicopter Theory (1990). He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and the American Helicopter Society (AHS) and has received a U.S. Army Commander's Award for Civilian Service, NASA Medals for Exceptional Engineering Achievement and Exceptional Technology Achievement, the AHS Grover E. Bell Award, the Ames H. Julian Allen Award, the AIAA Pendray Aerospace Literature Award and the 2010 AHS Alexander Nikolsky Honorary Lectureship.

Excelent Book for serious Rotorcraft Engineers and others

The book covers the entire area of Rotorcraft Aeromechanics which is very broad field of study, indeed. It takes one from the early days of and to 2012 aeromechanics. Wayne Johnson provides a significant amount of mathimatics to support his information. This could be off putting for those that are not current with their math, None-the-less, there is an enormous amount of information about so many subjects that it is an extremely valuable reference work. If the math puts you off, read between formulas and the lines and the information is there in clear plain language. It my seem expensive, but there is a lifetime of information in those pages. If your interested in the subject this book is gold mine and will return your investment many fold.

About the Author
Kevin John O'Connor, PhD, RPT-S, is a Clinical Psychologist and Distinguished Professor in Clinical PsyD and PhD programs at the California School of Professional Psychology in Fresno, California where he is also the Coordinator of the Ecosystemic Clinical Child Psychology Emphasis and Director of the Ecosystemic Play Therapy Training Center. He is the cofounder and a Director Emeritus of the Association for Play Therapy. He also maintains a small private practice treating children and adults recovering from childhood trauma. Dr. O'Connor is the coeditor of the Handbook of Play Therapy, Volumes I & II and Play Therapy Theory and Practice, Second Edition, and the author of the Play Therapy Primer, Second Edition as well as numerous articles on child psychotherapy and professional practice. Dr. O'Connor is also currently researching both the Marschak Interation Method Rating System (MIMRS), a clinical tool for rating the quality of caregiver-child interactions and the personal and professional issues and struggles faced by gay and lesbian psychotherapists who choose to work with children and families. He presents regularly such topics as Play Therapy Assessment and Treatment Planning, Increasing Children's Verbalizations in Play Therapy, the Use of Interpretation in Play Therapy, Structured Group Play Therapy, and others, across the United States and abroad.

Sue Ammen, PhD, RPT-S, is a Clinical Psychologist, Professor and Director of the Infant Preschooler Mental Health Certificates Program at Alliant International University in California and an instructor with the Harris Infant Mental Health Post-Graduate Program at the University of Colorado. She is endorsed as an early childhood mental health specialist and reflective facilitator mentor in California and was a member of the California workgroup that developed guidelines for training in Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health. She is also an early childhood mental health consultant/trainer in Colorado. Dr. Ammen frequently presents workshops and classes on ecosystemic play therapy and early childhood mental health, parent-child relationship assessment, and play-based assessments. She has authored several chapters and professional articles on play therapy and assessment, including Play Therapy with Preschoolers using the Ecosystemic Model, Ecosystemic Play Therapy with Infants, Toddlers, and their Families, and A Play-Based Teen Parenting Program to Facilitate Parent-Child Attachment. She is a co-developer of the Marschak Interaction Method Rating System.

"This is the 4th edition of a popular textbook presently used by many dental schools in North America. For this edition, Dr. Malamed enlisted the help of Dr. Morris Clark, who co-authored the section on inhalational sedation, as well as Dr. Kenneth Reed, who upgraded the section on medically compromised patients. Drawing Fashion

I ordered this item because the title said "Fashion Design Drawing Course". Since I am teaching a course of fashion design I thought may be this is the book I should use to teach the class. When I reviewed the book I found out that it was not a course at all. There are pictures of dresses and some elementary sketches, but not a book you will use to teach a class. The fancy title makes you think of a step-by-step book on how to draw fashion,which is just a bunch of pictures put together. If you really want to learn the process of fashion do not buy this book, instead get right book "Fashion Sketchbook" by Bina Abling.
